Tree of Life. Izapa Stela 5 Tree of Life monument has a tree in the center with a female goddess on the left and a male god on the right and a family seated on the base panel on either side of the tree that has 12 roots, it illustrate a Mesoamerican creation myth.
A large, carved stelae found in the ancient Mesoamerican site of Izapa, in the Soconusco region of Chiapas, Mexico along the present-day Guatemalan border. These stelae date from roughly 300 BCE to 50 or 100 BCE, although some argue for dates as late as 250 CE.
